Location: 5120 GS Fleet Maintenance
Pay Grade: A05
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Under general supervision, performs technical duties in the regular maintenance of City vehicles and equipment.
*This position performs duties deemed to be “safety-sensitive" and is therefore subjected to random drug testing under the City’s policies*
Essential Job Functions

- Performs lube service on all city equipment and vehicles, which includes changing the oil, oil filter and fuel filter (if equipped), airing up the tires, inspecting for leaks or damage, checking the brakes for wear, and verifying exterior lights are operational, etc.
- Performs inspections, maintenance, repair and replacement of wheels (rims and tires) that are in operation on city vehicles and equipment.
- Performs transmission services.
- Performs roadside and jobsite maintenance and flat repair.
- Records all units serviced and charges parts used.
- Reports all vehicle and equipment problems.
- Maintains lube and tire service area.
- Assists other mechanics as needed.
- Maintains shop equipment.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience
Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Tasks involve the ability to exert forceful physical effort in heavy work, typically involving some combination of balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 100 pounds). Must submit to drug screening and fitness to work physical.
