Location: 5300 S & S Street
Pay Grade: A04
FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Under general supervision, installs and maintains traffic control devices, traffic barricades; participates in traffic studies, repairs and replaces traffic signs.

*This position performs duties deemed to be “safety-sensitive" and is therefore subjected to random drug testing under the City’s policies*

Essential Job Functions

  • Participates in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices; participates in traffic studies; repairs and replaces traffic signs.
  • Sets up and delivers traffic control devices for special events.
  • Participates in the construction, maintenance, and repair of drainage structures, bridges, streets, and driveways.
  • Operates light and heavy equipment.
  • Participates in the mosquito abatement program.
  • Observes safety procedures, city policies, and work rules.
  • Performs routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Assists with flagging traffic.
  • Assists with emergency repairs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience

Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by one to two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid CDL Driver's License with no restrictions and tanker endorsement, issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Physical Requirements

Tasks involve the ability to exert moderate physical effort in medium work, typically involving some combination of balancing, crouching, feeling, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 50 pounds).
