Location: 1400 CD-Community Permitting
Pay Grade: A08
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Under general supervision, performs residential plans examination and various permit reviews.
Essential Job Functions

- Reviews residential site plans.
- Attends predevelopment meetings.
- Investigates problems and complaints, gathers information and data, and recommends corrective actions.
- Researches Planned Unit Development (PUD) files for compliance.
- Determines if properties are located within FEMA Floodplain.
- Reviews and issues all sign permits.
- Assists storm shelter registration with Emergency Management Department.
- Reviews building permit applications for new residences, all associated additions and accessory usage structures.
- Reviews with staff on new and upgraded cell towers.
- Meets with staff, engineers, architects, and the general public and answers inquiries.
- Completes research for projects, and compiles reports.
- Researches zoning ordinance, subdivision regulations, department policies and rules, storm water ordinances, and standard specifications and details, and local, state and federal laws for compliance.
- Reviews charts, maps, property titles, and other legal documents for compliance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience

Requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, supplemented by two to three years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Oklahoma for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
Physical Requirements

Tasks involve the ability to exert minimal physical effort in sedentary work, typically involving some combination of balancing, feeling, handling, hearing, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, standing, talking, visual acuity, walking and which involves some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (up to 10 pounds). Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
