Parks Maintenance Worker

Description
General Purpose
Maintains the grounds and facilities of the City’s parks and selected facilities. Performs maintenance to park equipment.Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintains grounds by picking up debris, trimming trees, mowing grass, changing trash bags in trashcans, landscaping grounds, repairing playground equipment, picnic tables, cleaning restrooms, new construction, concrete mason, and heavy equipment operations.
Maintains facilities by performing carpentry work, painting, replacing light bulbs, making plumbing repairs performs concrete and masonry work and repairs, and performs other duties as assigned.
Helps control vegetation and growth; prepares, applies and properly disposes of pesticides.
Peripheral Duties
Operates a variety of mowing equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
Performs other duties by maintaining equipment, operating heavy equipment, installing upgraded equipment and assisting other departments as needed.
Coordinate and work with all city departments, civic organizations, state and federal departments in maintaining existing and in the development of future parks.Typical Qualifications

Desired Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:- Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
- Basic knowledge relating to construction, repair, and maintenance of cemetery or related system, including the operation of related maintenance equipment.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:- Basic knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods, and procedures used in cemetery systems.
Special Requirements
Must possess or be able to obtain, by time of hire, a valid Oklahoma Driver's License.
Must be familiar with or have the ability to become familiar with the Coweta Code of Ordinances, safety policies and procedures. Supplemental Information

Mower, tractor, weed eater, chain saw, rock saw, backhoe, leaf blower, truck, hedge trimmer, hand tools, power tools, cutting torch, jack hammer, nail gun, grinder, buffer, table saw, paint gun, shovels.
