Wagoner County District 2- General Laborer

Reports to: County Commissioner or Road Foreman

Salary Range: Varies (To Be Determined)

Work Hours:

• Monday- Friday, 7:00Am to 3:30Pm (Typical)
• Over Time if necessary
• Saturdays and Sundays if necessary
• These hours may change due to weather conditions and job schedules

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Must be able to follow instructions
• Must possess the knowledge of safe use of a variety of tools
• Must perform and complete tasks as directed by the Road Foreman
• Must retrieve parts and supplies per request of Road Foreman from Vendors
• Must be able to meet all safety requirements and safety policies
• Must make sure all safety flashers are in use while working on roadway
• Must have safety vest or county issued uniform on while working outside of vehicle
• Must deal with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner
• Must keep tools that are used in a safe place when not in use
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must document materials used from Stock Inventory accuracy
• Must cleaning and preparing construction sites
• Loading and unloading materials and equipment
• Must be able to lift and carrying weights in excess of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform physical job, at times may be strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours and in extreme environment conditions
• Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures, assisting other employees in their duties
• Digging trenches, compacting earth and backfilling holes
• Must be able to operate light to heavy machinery and equipment
• May maintain vehicles, light to heavy equipment and machinery, from forklifts to jackhammers and more
• Must perform daily maintenance on the equipment. Fueling, checking oil
• Must inspect roads daily for missing signs
• Must replace missing, damaged signs and restore signs to upright position
• Must inform Road Foreman and Administrative Assistant of any signs needed for special order
• Must install signs to proper length and height
• Must be able to patch holes in roads
• Perform duties, such as, flagman, laying culvert, working on bridges, patching holes, trimming trees, picking up debris from roadways
